Meet Vinnie: A Standout Among Border Collie Males

Vinnie is the exceptional pick male from our very first Cherry x Zen litter. From the moment he was born, his striking conformation stood out. As he grew, his playful energy, cuddly nature, and eagerness to please became impossible to miss. It didn’t take long before he won over everyone who met him.

Early Success in the Show Ring

We began showing Vinnie early, and he quickly proved his potential. He earned his AKC Grand Champion title before his second birthday. Not stopping there, Vinnie claimed Best In Specialty Show (BISS), becoming only our second dog to do so—following in the pawprints of his grandmother, Iris.

A Champion in Every Way

Vinnie’s proudest moment came in 2024, when he won the Herding Group at the prestigious Mission Circuit Cluster. Beyond this major win, he has collected a wide range of accolades, with titles at both ends of his name. His consistent success makes him one of the most accomplished border collie males we’ve ever produced.

Siring the Next Generation

In addition to his achievements, Vinnie has also begun his journey as a sire. Though his offspring are still young, we see great promise in them. Both within our kennel and others, his puppies are already showing the intelligence and beauty expected from top-tier border collie males.

Zen: A Resilient Spirit Among Border Collie Males

Zen entered the world on January 20, 2020—just as the first whispers of COVID-19 began spreading across the globe. At only 8 weeks old, the world shut down. Like many other puppies born that year, Zen missed crucial early socialization opportunities. As a result, he became what we lovingly call our “COVID puppy.”

A Bond Forged Through Uncertainty

During those uncertain months, Zen and I leaned on each other. He was my emotional anchor, and I was his. This bond, though powerful, created a deep dependency that made balanced training a challenge. We struggled to shape Zen into a confident, well-rounded dog, despite his incredible conformation.

From the Show Ring to the Herding Field

Although he earned his AKC Championship, the show ring wasn’t Zen’s favorite place. Crowds drained his energy, and his confidence never fully bloomed in the spotlight. Recognizing this, we shifted focus to activities he genuinely enjoyed—especially herding. In one-on-one environments, Zen thrived. His instinct, intelligence, and drive were impossible to ignore.

Sire of Excellence

Zen’s legacy goes far beyond his own journey. He is the proud sire of Vinnie—our most accomplished dog to date. Vinnie has earned multiple championship titles, including a prestigious Best in Specialty Show win and a Group win at the Mission Circuit Cluster. Among all our border collie males, Zen stands as both a survivor and a foundation.
